Sunrise Cove, a fishing village in the tropical south of Fangea, is not very big, but is well known to many a seafarer who has weighed anchor off its coast or has moored its longboats to the docks, beside the fishing boats from which many of Sunrise Cove's citizenry earn their living.

The Salty Selkie is well known as a place for good fish, good grog and good tales, and has been frequented by simple folk, sea captains and even buccaneers.

This Village is also the home of some unusual young men and women, those who would one day be part of the tales.

Background: Rodrik Nobbs was grew up in the care of
his aunt and uncle, Onew and Pama Nobbs, who run (Or
ran) the Sailor's Repose, an Inn/Fest hall. He grew up
next to his two cousins, both of whom would surely
inherit the Inn before he ever would. Rather than
protest this, Rodrik rather enjoyed the idea of a
responsibility free life. Many a young lass of the
island fancied his good looks, even if his prospects
were shakey. His parents, he later found out, had
suffered a grizzly fate. Both , it turned out, were
slain by the brutal pirate Redjack, who took their
ship after taking their lives.

When he found this out, there were times Rodrik wanted
vengeance so bitterly he could taste it. But he also
realized he was just fortunate not to have been with
his parents when it occurred. For a time, he choose the
path of hedonism, often shirking his chores, and
taking to the beach. Some (the ones not taken in by
his charms) considered him good for nothing. Perhaps
he was...

At least, until he turned 16. While enjoying himself
by the shore, he noticed the waves were picking up. An
abrupt storm had swept in FAST. A local girl on a
small raft out there was coming in, but not fast
enough, and was capsized. While lazy and aimless,
Rodrik was a good soul, and a brave one, and dived in
without a moment's hesitation to rescue the girl. He
almost drowned himself after getting her to safety.
When he awoke, he found himself in the temple of
Lunari. The priests there had revived him only just
in time.

Impressed with him, they decided to teach him the ways
of their goddess, and for the first time in awhile,
something captured Rodrik's interest. Eventually (and
to his surprise), he became a priest himself. While he
enjoys helping others, he still shuns anything
smacking of regular work if he can help it, and so he
hopes to travel and adventure in the name of his
goddess, serving her well, making a bit of coin, and
having some fun doing it.

Though not a native, he has spent the last year in the Cove, a place new to him, but he has come to call it home.


Appearance: Rodrik is a tall well muscled man with
skin turned copper by all his time swimming or working
at the docks. His hair falls in tight golden curls. He
has blue green eyes, some think a sign that he is well
suited to his goddess. While armored when expecting
battle, Rodrik is not fool enough to wear the heaviest
of armors when expecting he might take a plunge. He
has a fondness for almost greecian style of clothing,
if such a style exists in this world. Many might
mistake him for a warrior at first glance.
